A Castile soap is truly magical for anyone who has dry or sensitive skin and particularly good for anyone who has Psoriasis or Eczema, of course if you just want fabulously soft skin then this is the soap for you too!
 
 
What is a pure Castile Soap you ask??
 
Well a true Castile Soap only uses Olive Oil as the base, this gives the soap many wonderful benefits for the skin. Some oils can actually dry the skin or block the pores with a film so this is why we use only Olive Oil. It's renowned for it's ability to act as a humectant, this allows the skin to breathe while actually attracting and holding moisture in the skin then allowing the skin to do what it does naturally uninhibited, sweating & shedding.
 
Why use Goats Milk??
 
We use Goats Milk as it's an incredibly good natural moisturiser for the skin as well as wonderful for healing and soothing. It was said that Cleopatra maintained her legendary beauty by bathing in Goats Milk, its skin care qualities have been recognized for millennia across many cultures. Goats Milk contains naturally occurring alpha-hydroxy, proteins, minerals and high levels of Vitamins A and E, it's also a natural anti-inflammatory.  The alpha-hydroxyl have restorative and rejuvenating qualities that assist in healing.
 
Why is there so little foam??
 
To our 21st Century eyes a soap that doesn't lather isn't a soap, this is just a conditioning that we've got used to over the years after watching all those adverts of soaking in foamy baths; we forget what's been added to these products to achieve this effect. The pay off is that assorted chemicals and agents are added that will strip the skin of all its natural oils, which protect it from the elements. Your skin may feel clean but the perception of "feeling clean" (a dry tight feeling) is to have no oils left on the surface of the skin.... so you feel the need to moisturise and replace that moisture the foaming agents have just striped out... so you apply more chemicals that were never needed if you hadn't striped the skin of natural oils in the first place - a very drying vicious circle I'm afraid.
 
Our Castile Soap will give a creamy lather but only if you show it a bit of wellie with a scrunchy in the shower.....
